I came up with the (what I thought) was a fantastic notion of building a Lego ship in a bottle and decided to run with it. So first, I did a Google search for "Lego Ship in a Bottle" and alas someone had done it before! (here)
But what's that to stop me! So I purchased a large bottle of $7 jug wine, attempted to drink it but it was just too awful so I poured it down the sink. I filled it part way with floral resin and glass beads to give myself a flat surface to work on, and put together a set of make-shift tools to do the job. These are the tools I ended up using:
I designed the entire thing in Bricksmith and devised a way to build it back to front using only bricks that were able to fit through the neck of the bottle (mostly 2 pegs wide, but also plates that were 3 pegs wide). Then I got building!
