樂高科技團隊的公告
"The LEGO group and the LEGO Technic product team is aware that a number of consumers are experiencing problems with their 8043 motorized excavator.
It's really important to us that our products are of the highest quality and we are currently doing everything we can to solve this issue. As soon as we heard about this, we immediately got in contact with some of these consumers to learn from their models.
These models are right now being tested and investigated in any possible way.
We are working very hard to come up with a solution, which we will communicate as soon as possible.
Best regards
The LEGO Technic product team"
所以解決方案還在測試當中

EBs的討論也是很多
不過實在沒有時間啃完
先列出提供參考
8043 Excavator - Lego update Lots of information regarding problems http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45378
The Ultimate 8043 (modifications) With instructions to make real mean diggin' machine
One thing I did notice was that quite a few axles had white powder on them which looked like plastic dust. Perhaps grinding transmissions was the source of the problems for 8043? Who knows

We’ve only just started the design and production of this new piece, so it may not be available until early October.
3.另外願意等待的消費者,我們將提供10英鎊(約500元台幣)的額度(現金? 折價卷?)給每個消費者
if you choose not to return your set but to wait for the replacement piece, we'd like to offer you a GBP 10.00 credit with our apologies and we will send the new part as soon as possible."
On my excavator, the boom lift actuators were not the only slow ones. They became slow the soonest, but not long after the dipper actuator became just as slow. The bucket worked fine. After the "fix", the boom and dipper are about the same (although it sounds different) and the bucket is noticeably slower and also "bounces" significantly while extending. This is presumably because the threads are not well supported.
A greater concern to me than the speed is the plastic "chips" which Conchas found when taking apart the old actuator. It seems to me that the new actuator will still produce these, and will therefore still wear out over (short) time.
The only thing left I can think of to try is to just take the model apart and start over to see if it is any different.
